It’s become a tradition at La Cité de la Voix in Vézelay. Every second week of July, four groups set up camp in the Yonne department for a six-day artistic residency.
We work on a project, a program, and perform daily in front of the public during mini-concerts organized in the Basilica of Saint Mary Magdalene or in the gardens of the Cité from Tuesday to Sunday, with a Saturday getaway to a nearby village.
For 2025, the musicians of the Parisian ensemble Barbaroco are coming to Vézelay to work on a program of Spanish polyphonies before moving on to recording an album in the fall.
Violist Eliaz Hercelin, who founded the group in 2020, answered questions from BFC Classique.
